Abstract
The mode-locking performance of a diode-pumped laser is first demonstrated with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). Stable mode-locking with the pulse duration of and the repetition rate of is achieved. An output power of is obtained at a pump power of , corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 35%. The maximum mode-locked pulse energy is estimated to be with the peak power of .
