New measurements of 34 spectral lines of highly ionized Cr ions in the range of 100–280 Å have been made with a wavelength uncertainty of ±5 mÅ. The light source was the TEXT tokamak at the University of Texas at Austin. Lines of Li-like to F-like Cr are included with visually estimated relative intensities, the best previous measurements, and their energy-level classifications. The uncertainties of the best earlier measurements were reported as ±20–30 mÅ, but much larger errors were found in some cases.

Best values previously measured are from the following references: Li-like from Ref. 8; Be-, B-, and C-like from Ref. 7; N-, O-, and F-like from Ref. 5.
Blended with Cr xviii line.
Blended with Ni xxii line.
Table 2
Lov Energy Levels of Cr xvi to Cr xxii Based on New Measurements of Wavelengthsa
All ground-configuration levels were determined from M1 lines compiled in Ref. 10 or as noted.
This level was derived from Ref. 5 wavelengths and has an uncertainty of ±200 cm−1.
An improved value for the 2s22p4 3P1–1S0M1 transition of 493.59(9) Å was reported in Ref. 11.
Ground-state splitting is determined by E1 rather than M1 lines. Two pairs of E1 lines give close agreement for this interval.
The 2s2p2 2S1/2 and 2P1/2 levels are interchanged from the order given in Ref. 7, based on calculations in Ref. 9.
