Abstract
This paper reports experimental results of electromagnetic plane-wave diffraction by slit and circular apertures in various nonplanar conducting screens. Detailed measurements of the diffracted electric-field intensity or irradiance for three slit apertures and three circular apertures are presented in the form of equi-irradiance contour maps. Comparison of these results shows that the influence of the nonplanar screens on the diffracted field is largely confined to regions very near the aperture and near the screens.
