Abstract
Barakat has recently discussed certain apodization problems originally proposed by Luneberg. We present in this note some critical comments on these papers. First is a series of mathematical observations on the analysis used by Barakat to solve the apodization problems. Next, is a criticism of his formulation of these problems, followed by a solution of modified versions of them. Finally, we state some unsolved apodization problems.
