Abstract
A recording interferometer is described which permits the precise measurement of an angle by means of interferometric measurement of chord length. The present instrument, working in conjunction with a recording spectrometer, is applied to the problem of precise wave-length determinations. Preliminary results indicate that the average deviation of a single measurement is 0.044A. The application of this interferometer to the measurement of linear or rotational motion is discussed.
