Abstract
A method is described whereby spectral sensitometry is facilitated by the addition of a biprism to the optical train within a spectrograph. The modified instrument affords a spectrogram divided into three zones of relative intensities

. In any spectral region, the characteristic curve of the emulsion can be determined from transmittance measurements on line images in all three zones. Although rather similar to the use of a step filter, the method has advantages over other techniques for homochromatic sensitometry.
