Back-of-the-envelope image quality estimation using the national image interpretability rating scale: erratum

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

This paper corrects several errata in Appl. Opt. 58, 6586 (2019) [CrossRef]  .

© 2019 Optical Society of America

In 1, the second sentence in the last paragraph of the APPLICATION section is missing the word “reciprocal”, and the equation GSD/z should be z/GSD; the sentence should read: “The dimensionless value is $ f\!/\!p_{\!p} $, which is a sole quantity (where f-number isn’t because the function is not strictly a function of the ratio of focal length to aperture diameter) and is equal to z/GSD (similar triangles), the reciprocal of the system’s angular sampling.”

Also, within the Affiliation section, the “g” in “gate” should be capitalized to “Gate” in the company name. Similarly, the “g” in “gate” should be capitalized to “Gate” in the e-mail address.
