We describe a compact, inexpensive method to create speckle-free illumination with existing lasers using the Brownian motion of colloidal scatterers. This approach gives high efficiency, requires no external power, and suppresses speckle within 100 microseconds. For details, see Cao et al., pp. 1168-1172.
