Metal-coated dielectric wedge waveguides enable significantly lower crosstalk than their conventional hybrid plasmonic counterparts, making them appealing candidates for the realizations of ultra-compact photonic components and optically integrated circuits with high packing densities. For details, see Bian et al., pp. 5733-5741.
