Validation of open-path dual-comb spectroscopy against an O2 background: erratum

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

This erratum corrects errors that appear in Opt. Express 31, 5042 (2023). [CrossRef]

The paper [1] contains a factor of 2 error in the time domain axis of the spectroscopy data shown. This error does not change the frequency axis presented, does not change any of the fit results and does not impact any of the conclusions of the original manuscript. The impacts to the manuscript are as follows:

Figure 5(a) Should have x-axis labels at 100, 200, 300 ps instead of 200, 400, 600 ps.

See the corrected figure here.

Fig. 5. Fitting the 1270 nm O2 band of a 160 minute time-averaged spectrum. (a) Time-domain fit result using mFID technique. Purple: best-fit model from O2 + H2O. Black: fit residual. Inset shows high-amplitude residual at early times due to laser intensity background. High-pass fit weighting function is zero in green-shaded regions.

The sentence in 3.2, paragraph 5, should say “The mFID fit is only weakly sensitive to the size of the zero-weight region, and doubling this region (from 13.5 ps to 30 ps) changes the O2 concentration by a factor of just 1.0005.” It originally stated “doubling this region (from 27 ps to 60 ps) changes the O2 concentration by a factor of just 1.0005.”

In Dataset 1 (doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.21506976), the f5a_fit_td.csv, the ‘time_picoseconds’ column should be linearly spaced from 0 to 2499.9595, or (1 / fr) / 2. The time_picoseconds column was originally linearly spaced from 0 to 4999.919. Data File 1 was updated on 26 April 2024.
