Rayleigh-based accurate estimation of modulation amplitude in Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry

Abstract

The spatial resolution in Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry relies on the modulation amplitude of the light. We propose a Rayleigh-based method to measure the amplitude without modifying the setup or requiring an optical spectrum analyzer.
