Abstract

A high-sensitivity intensity-interrogated temperature sensor is proposed and numerically demonstrated. The sensor is realized by the optical fiber edge-filter (OFEF) based on the phase-modulated long period fiber grating (PMLPG) in chalcogenide fiber. The obtained sensitivity is ~30 times larger than that of the conventional LPGs in silica fibers.
