Experimental Investigation of Polar Code Performance for Coherent UDWDM PONs

Abstract

We report on the experimental investigation of Polar codes with 7% overhead for forward-error-correction (FEC) in a coherent UDWDM PON scenario. The measured post-FEC bit error ratio vs. the signal-to-noise ratio is compared with results from simulations.
