Abstract
We use classical models to study the response of atoms to strong laser fields. The response of a single electron atom is studied by associating a phase space with the initial electron orbital and evolving this phase space classically. This procedure corresponds to taking the semiclassical limit of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation.
