Abstract
It is well known that a complete description of CO2 lasers requires the inclusion of the interaction between the resonant levels and the manifold of rotational levels that belong to the same vibrational state.1 Therefore, the phase space is enlarged to at least three coupled dynamic variables. However, experiments indicate that the dynamics is simpler and occurs in a 2-D subspace.
