Abstract
Red-shifted opsins (ReaChR and halorhodopsin) were expressed in Drosophila melanogaster heart in order to achieve optogenetic pacing using red-light excitation. Controlled heart function was demonstrated in vivo throughout the Drosophila life cycle.
