Abstract
During the past decade time-resolved coherent Raman spectroscopy in the picosecond time domain has been well established as the time domain analog to spontaneous Raman spectroscopy.1 While spontaneous Raman spectroscopy gives a ready overview of the entire spectrum, the time-resolved techniques have special advantages: They provide direct precision measurements of medium and large dephasing times T2 (T2 > 1 ps), elucidating line-broadening mechanisms, and give improved resolution of certain congested spectral regions.
