Abstract
Heterogeneous pigmented biotissues contain spherical and spheroidal melanopro- tein granules of characteristic size about 1 micrometer. During the action of laser radiation pulse on pigmented biotissues the granules selectively absorb radiation energy whereas the surrounding biotissues have a markedly smaller absorptivity. Since the granules are the main radiation energy absorbers in the pigmented layers, the thermal processes with the lowest energy threshold is apparently initiated on the granules.
